Production Warehouse Manager

Job Summary

The Production Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations, including inventory control, shipping and receiving, and production support. This hands-on leadership role ensures accurate and efficient material flow, ERP system management, and compliance with organizational and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about process improvement, safety, and team development.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and adjust stock levels to meet production and distribution demands.

  • Conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile variances, and ensure data integrity.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through audits, bin transfers, and ERP oversight.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Manage all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

  • Coordinate freight bookings and documentation for parcel and palletized shipments.

  • Resolve shipping discrepancies and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Production Support

  • Pull, stage, and transfer materials for production as needed.

  • Manage inventory at auxiliary warehouse locations to support production schedules.

Safety Coordination

  • Serve as the on-site safety coordinator.

  • Lead weekly and monthly safety training and conduct regular safety audits.

  • Drive continuous improvement in safety culture and compliance.

ERP System Oversight

  • Implement and maintain ERP and barcode/scanning systems.

  • Ensure timely and accurate system updates to support warehouse operations.

Warehouse Organization

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

  • Ensure all storage and workflow areas comply with company and regulatory standards.

Product Release Management

  • Coordinate the release and shipment of finished goods to meet customer timelines.

Non-Inventory Consumables

  • Track and manage consumables and other non-inventory supplies.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably with inventory control or ERP focus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

  • Solid arithmetic and analytical skills, including basic calculations and ratios.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows systems; ERP experience preferred.

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with other departments.

  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification).


Physical Demands

  • Regular standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally 75 lbs).

  • Frequent pallet jack operation and movement of pallets up to 2,000 lbs.

  • Stair climbing and physical activity required daily.

  • Visual acuity (depth perception and focus adjustment) necessary for operational safety.

  • Moderately noisy warehouse environment with operational variations.
